Updates from the Chamber Board - October Highlights

In case you missed it, the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce put on some awesome events this month!

Membership Appreciation Fiesta

El Agave was the lively setting for our fall Membership Appreciation Fiesta on October 17th. Highlights (other than the chips and salsa) included Tonya Wemhoff of Wemhoff Consulting who facilitated conversation with a thought-provoking card game that got everyone talking. Tonya’s expertise in HR consulting could be a valuable asset for many of our members, and the Chamber Board was thrilled to introduce her.

Parade of Goblins

Over 500 costumed kiddos were welcomed into the Merrick County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena on Saturday, October 27th for our annual trick-or-treat event! A huge thank you to our members who donated, set up trunks, and gave out treats. This event simply wouldn’t happen without member support, and we can’t wait to see what creative trunk themes and costumes you’ll dream up next year.

Spread the Kindness

Donna, our dedicated Chamber Director, “spread the sweetness” this month by treating the Central City Police Department to donuts in appreciation for their kindness. The Chamber Board is so thankful for their continued support of Chamber run events, especially their crucial role in making our 4th of July parade possible.

We invite all members to “Spread the Kindness.” Show your support for this movement by paying it forward, wearing “kindness” shirts on Fridays, engaging with our Facebook posts, and showing that kindness truly matters. Let’s continue to inspire kindness throughout the community, and who knows? Maybe Donna will show up at your business with a sweet treat.

November Board Meeting

The Chamber Board is excitedly preparing for the upcoming holiday season! We encourage our members to use Bison Bucks for sales, promotions, and giveaways. Bison Bucks are a fantastic way to support local business during the holidays. Watch for our announcement soon about which lucky businesses will be giving away Bison Bucks on behalf of the Chamber Board!

Additionally, committees have been established to oversee nominations for a new class of Chamber Board positions and Gala awards. Invitations for the Gala are being finalized and will be sent out shortly - though tickets are available now! The countdown to year-end is officially on!
