Our members were plenty busy with end-of-year festivities. Retailers had sales and holiday shoppers filling their stores. Across the board, all members have been focused on wrapping up the year while preparing for 2025. The Chamber takes pride in supporting these efforts and celebrating the hard work and dedication of our members.
The Central City Chamber of Commerce Board was equally engaged, promoting your holiday events while hosting and planning a few exciting festivities of our own. Together, we made the season bright for our community!
Hawaiian Holidays
This year, the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce presented a tropical twist to the season with Hawaiian Holidays! At the Merrick County Courthouse Square on December 8th, people of all ages gathered for “festive, free, family fun for the whole community!” The square buzzed with games, entertainment, refreshments, and an abundance of holiday cheer!
“Deck” Your Halls
As we #shopsmall and #supportlocal, the Chamber ran its “Deck” Your Halls promotion. Throughout December, as you shopped at local, participating businesses, shoppers picked a card. Each Thursday a card was drawn from a deck at the Chamber office, and if it matched your card, it could be returned to the retail business for $5 shopping credit at that business. Winning cards were announced weekly on the Chamber’s Facebook. If you missed this promo, don’t worry! It’s an annual thing.
Annual Bison Bucks Promotion
Our 10% bonus Bison Bucks holiday promotion ran from December 6th-20th. It was the BEST time to buy your Bucks, and so many took advantage of the sale.
Spread the Kindness
1to1 Technologies was recognized by our Chamber Board in our monthly Spread the Sweetness campaign. 1to1 Technologies owner, Cody, graciously donated an iPad to give away at this year’s Parade of Goblins. This was an absolute hit! The Chamber Board treated 1to1 Technologies to Runza cookies and Dairy Queen ice cream. Thank you 1to1 Technologies for all that you do for our community!
We invite all members to “Spread the Kindness.” Show your support for this movement by paying it forward, wearing “kindness” shirts on Fridays, engaging with our Facebook posts, and showing that kindness truly matters. Let’s continue to inspire kindness throughout the community, and who knows? Maybe we will show up at your business with a sweet treat.
Scooter’s Ribbon Cutting
The highly anticipated grand opening of Scooter’s Coffee took place on January 3rd. We want to give a big welcome to our newest Central City Area Chamber of Commerce member as we held a ribbon cutting for the Nebraska founded drive-through coffee shop on that same day.
Upcoming Event:
- Saturday February 1st, 2025: A 100th-Year Gala at the Merrick County Fairgrounds
